Imperial Karate Club - Martial Arts

Simon O'Brien started Imperial Karate Club in August 1995 in a small church hall with just 7 students! Imperial Karate Club is supported by Bristol City Council and are part of a national non-profit making association of 45 clubs called Higashi. All instructors are registered, fully insured and hold current First Aid qualifications.

We teach our students using a philosophy of positive reinforcement to build Self-Esteem, Confidence, Discipline, Positive Attitude, and Values. At Imperial Karate we realize that although the ability to defend oneself is important, there are many additional benefits to be gained from a martial arts program.

We teach Traditional Karate along side Sport Karate to satisfy all students requirements. Training with Imperial Karate Club will improve your performance in other sports as well as improving study habit and increasing overall concentration. In addition to this, by building self confidence, self respect, and self discipline, we are helping young people to deal with the many problems they face growing up in today's world, including drugs, peer pressure and gangs.
